15-year-old Canadian GitMo Detainee
Captured in 2002 (then 15) Omar Khadr has been held in Guantanamo Bay ever since. The Canadian government has done little to assist him (he has not had a trial yet). He spoke to his family via telephone for the first time in 5 years recently. He faces charges of belonging to al-Queda and murder (which will be brought before the farcical military tribunals).
Prosecution documents say he was the lone survivor of a U.S. air strike on an al-Qaeda base and killed an American soldier by detonating a hand grenade when troops tried to arrest him.
